Product Developer – Senior Mechanical Designer R&D (M/F/X) – 100%
Role Summary :
As a Product Developer, you will play a key role in the research, design and development of innovative mechanical equipment. You will contribute to the entire product development lifecycle, from concept generation and detailed mechanical design to prototype validation, industrialization and continuous product improvement.
Your role :
You will be an integral part of Dec’s TPS (Technology and Process Support) department. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Deeply understand the technology, products and features of the assigned product area.
- Analyse market requirements to develop innovative mechanical solutions, including new products and improvements to existing equipment.
- Lead product development projects from concept generation through prototype manufacturing, assembly, testing and validation.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings of machine components and assemblies.
- Select and specify mechanical and pneumatic components, materials, and manufacturing solutions.
- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analyses and mechanical simulations to validate design performance.
- Collaborate directly with suppliers to source prototype components and resolve technical issues.
- Analyse test results, prepare test reports, and implement design improvements to optimize product performance.
- Support the transition of new products from prototype to industrial production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to drive product development and implementation.
- Provide technical support for product-related engineering activities and continuous product improvement.
- Verify product compliance with technical, functional and regulatory requirements.
Your profile :
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification, supported by relevant experience in mechanical product development.
- Proven experience in mechanical design and product development of industrial machinery or equipment.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Inventor or equivalent) and preparation of technical drawings.
- Good knowledge of machine design, mechanical and pneumatic components, materials and manufacturing processes.
- Experience performing engineering calculations and mechanical analyses; knowledge of FEM/CAE is an advantage.
- Hands-on approach to prototype development, testing and continuous product improvement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive and innovative mindset.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with global cross-functional teams and international subsidiaries.
- Familiarity with relevant engineering standards and regulations; knowledge of ATEX, the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) and GMP requirements is considered an asset.
- Good written and spoken English.
