Deutschlehrperson - German Teacher Grades 9 to 11 - for August 2026

The most significant impact on student learning is the quality of the teaching they experience—great teachers develop great learners. Our school has an opening for a full-time German teacher at our Adliswil Campus for August 2026.

We are seeking a highly motivated, learner-centered educator with a growth mindset who has experience teaching grades 9, 10, and 11. The ideal candidate will be flexible and excited to cooperate with a team of dynamic, professional languages teachers to plan, deliver, and assess student-centered curriculum in a diverse international school setting. Main responsibilities include the following:
  • Plan, deliver, and assess an inquiry-based German curriculum that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and high expectations for learning.

  • Collaborate closely with a dynamic team of language teachers to design curriculum and share pedagogical best practices.

  • Integrate technology seamlessly into the curriculum to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

  • Build strong, supportive relationships with students and colleagues to maintain a caring and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Participate actively in school life and enthusiastically contribute to the ZIS co-curricular program.

  • Commit to ongoing professional development, self-reflection, and the continuous development of our language program.

Qualification and Experience:
  • A valid teaching license, including a specialism in teaching German to fluent language learners.

  • A strong understanding of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

  • A BA / BSc or equivalent university degree.

  • A documented record of excellence in teaching.

  • At least 3 years of teaching experience is preferred, ideally at an international school (international experience is required for non-Swiss/EU applicants).

  • Excellent teamwork, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships across a diverse school community.

We offer:
  • Varied and interesting tasks in a dynamic, multicultural environment.

  • A strong, collaborative, and supportive international community.

  • A team-oriented leadership culture aligned with our values.
