Security Investigator Overseas Building Operations (OBO)

The U.S. Mission in Switzerland, Bern, is seeking eligible and qualified applications for the position of Security Investigator in the Overseas Building Operation (OBO) section.

This position performs a broad range of investigative, security, and administrative functions in support of the OBO construction project.

The incumbent conducts background investigations on contractors and Locally Employed Staff, verifying educational and employment histories, references, and suitability for employment, while preparing investigative reports for the Regional Security Office (RSO) and delivering security briefings to project contractors.

As a police liaison, the incumbent supports the Site Security Manager (SSM) on construction-related security matters, assists with loss prevention and criminal investigations, and coordinates with the Embassy RSO and Foreign Service National Investigator (FSNI) on off-site investigations.

The role also serves as Local Guard Coordinator/Liaison, supervising day-to-day Local Guard Force operations, ensuring proper training and equipment serviceability, and liaising with host country law enforcement and security officials. Finally, the incumbent carries out administrative duties including file and database management, correspondence processing, document translation, and operation of government-owned vehicles in support of SSM office functions.
