Head of Accounting & Financial Reporting

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as the Head of Accounting & Financial Reporting.
The Head of Accounting & Financial Reporting will serve as the accounting and finance leader for ECS Technologie and its international entities. This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing company entering an exciting phase of growth in global satellite communications, spanning connectivity, ground infrastructure, and emerging space networks. The role offers the chance to help shape and execute strategy for ECS Technologie's international expansion through organic entity creation, acquisitions, product development, and pricing models while building out a team to match the company's growing needs. The Head of Accounting & Financial Reporting will also be responsible for statutory accounting, technical accounting, financial reporting, and financial planning, and will oversee the accounting team while serving as a key point of contact for executive management and the Board.
- Lead the accounting function and directly manage the ECS Accounting Team, setting priorities, allocating workload, and ensuring the team delivers accurate, on-time results
- Serve as the primary point of coordination between the accounting function and other departments.
- Lead financial reporting and financial planning activities for ECS and its subsidiaries
- Lead the accounting and financial reporting workstreams for mergers, acquisitions, legal entity restructurings, cross-border asset transfers, and other strategic corporate transactions, including post-transaction integration into the company's financial reporting processes
- Review complex accounting transactions and prepare technical accounting memoranda
- Oversee foreign currency accounting, including functional currency determinations, remeasurement, translation, cumulative translation adjustments (CTA), and intercompany accounting, ensuring compliance with IFRS and consistency across international entities
- Support intercompany transfer pricing documentation and compliance for cross-border transactions with affiliated entities
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities
- Prepare and review Swiss statutory financial statements under the Swiss Code of Obligations (OR), oversee IFRS group reporting, and present financial results and key accounting matters to executive management and the Board Coordinate with external audits, statutory filings, tax advisors, fiduciaries, and regulatory reporting
- Coordinate Handelsregister (commercial register) filings and support board/shareholder resolutions and Annual General Meeting (Generalversammlung) documentation
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance plus a recognized professional qualification such as CPA, Swiss CPA, CA, or ACCA
- Strong demonstration, or minimum 15 years’ experience, of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility within international organizations. Big Four experience is a strong plus; candidates with equivalent technical experience may also be considered
- Hands-on experience with Swiss statutory reporting, and solid working knowledge of IFRS with familiarity in its application to international/group entity reporting
- Demonstrated expertise in foreign currency accounting and financial statement translation.
- Experience preparing board-level financial reporting and presenting to senior leadership
- Experience managing external auditors, tax advisors, and fiduciaries
- Working knowledge of Swiss VAT (MWST) and withholding tax (Verrechnungssteuer) requirements
- Professional fluency in English and German
