Job description:
  • Lead the engineering transition and transformation roadmap.
  • Implement the Target Operating Model across Swiss and European sites.
  • Coordinate the onboarding and mobilisation of external engineering partners.
  • Manage the transfer of work packages, responsibilities and technical knowledge.
  • Track progress against transition, productivity and offshoring objectives.
  • Identify and escalate risks relating to scope, workload and delivery.
  • Establish clear governance, documentation and performance reporting.
  • Support teams in adopting new processes, tools and ways of working.
  • Influence stakeholders from shop-floor teams to senior leadership.
  • Ensure operational continuity, safety and compliance throughout the transition.
About the customer:

A global, science-led manufacturing organisation is looking for an experienced transformation leader to implement a new engineering operating model across its European operations.

Based in Monthey, you will coordinate the transition of engineering activities to strategic service partners, initially within the Swiss hub and later across other European sites. Your priority will be to deliver the transformation while protecting safety, compliance, technical quality and operational continuity.

Requirements:

Essential

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Sciences or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 8 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing operations, transformation or programme delivery.
  • Proven experience leading a complex transformation or transition programme within a manufacturing environment.
  • Direct experience implementing a Target Operating Model, outsourced service model or major organisational change.
  • Experience transferring technical work, responsibilities and knowledge to an external provider, shared-service centre or offshore delivery team.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing-site operations, engineering governance, safety and compliance requirements.
  • Proven programme-management experience, including planning, risk management, governance, reporting and benefits tracking.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders, site teams and external partners without direct line authority.
  • Fluent English.
  • Willingness to travel across Europe.
Desirable
  • Experience in chemicals, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals or another regulated process-manufacturing industry.
  • Experience managing engineering-service providers or strategic suppliers.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Operational Excellence or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Project, programme or change-management certification.
  • Experience working across multiple European sites and international cultures.
