Research associate in Plant Science

What you'll be doing here

  • Helping establish a soil monitoring scheme to harmonize monitoring activities at European scale
  • Setting up equipment at the Swiss monitoring site and collecting wind, water erosion and tillage erosion data
  • Collecting information from the local stakeholders based on surveys and workshops to support the measurements
  • Analysing the Swiss data and modelling soil erosion at catchment scale
  • Collecting data from all European monitoring sites, controlling quality, analysing statistics and writing publications
  • Using standardized methods to ensure up-to-date and accurate data matching modelers' needs and validating the selected indicators

What you'll bring with you

  • A university degree (master's or PhD) in agronomy or a related subject
  • Very good knowledge of agricultural science and soil science
  • Experience in monitoring and modelling soil erosion, data analysis and programming languages (e.g. R, Python)
  • High level of motivation, ability to work independently, resilience and strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Native speaker of German or French with a good knowledge of the other language; very good command of English
