Project Engineer

Position's purpose:

Support and execute assigned company projects through the study, development, approval, implementation and validation stages, in alignment with the Integrated Work System (IWS) Initiative Management (IM) Pillar and JTI’s global procedures and standards. Coordinate with project managers and cross-functional teams to deliver projects within the approved cost, timeline, scope and quality requirements, while providing technical support for studies, innovations and improvements to factory capacity and capabilities.

  • Project Planning and Control.
  • Compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety Requirements.
  • Engineering Standards Development.
  • Technical Support for Feasibility Studies.
  • Initiative Management Pillar.

Requirements:

  • Technical education, ideally with further training at HF/FH level and/or an Engineering Degree.
  • 1-2 years of experience, including internships or obligatory training, in a project engineering, technical, manufacturing or production-related environment. Experience supporting engineering projects through study, design, planning, execution and validation is preferred, together with exposure to cost and schedule control, contractor coordination, safety requirements, technical problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Very good command of German and English, both written and spoken.
  • Good knowledge of engineering project processes, with the ability to support project scope definition, technical studies, cost estimation, scheduling, procurement, execution, commissioning and validation. Knowledge of safety requirements, risk management, contractor coordination, technical documentation and change control is preferred. Experience with SAP, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project and Power BI is an advantage. Familiarity with the Integrated Work System (IWS), Initiative Management, Kaizen, 5S and structured problem-solving is a plus, together with strong communication, collaboration, organization and stakeholder-management skills.
