EI&C Software Application Engineer

Take a key role in developing and supporting manufacturing software applications and IT/OT integrations within a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment.

• Develop, configure, maintain, and enhance automation and manufacturing software applications.
• Design and integrate solutions connected to DCS, MES, historians, databases, and manufacturing systems.
• Develop applications and scripts using VBA, PowerShell, C#, SQL, and Git-based version control.
• Create functional specifications, software design specifications, and other GxP-compliant engineering documentation.
• Support interfaces, data exchange, and integration between OT and IT systems.
• Execute software testing, commissioning, qualification, validation, and deployment activities.
• Troubleshoot application, interface, database, and system issues and support root cause investigations.
• Improve existing applications to increase reliability, performance, maintainability, and user experience.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, data integrity, cybersecurity, change management, and software lifecycle requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project and operational teams throughout the full system lifecycle.

• Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Strong IT and software engineering background, including databases, networking, system integration, and application support.
• Experience with manufacturing and automation platforms such as DCS, MES, or data historian systems.
• Practical knowledge of VBA, PowerShell, C#, and SQL.
• Understanding of software lifecycle management, version control, and structured application support.
• Experience working in GMP-regulated environments and preparing GxP-compliant documentation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
• Fluent English and/or German.
