The Role

You drive and strengthen the laboratory’s scientific capabilities by leading complex analytical developments, supporting critical investigations, and enabling data-driven decision-making across multiple stakeholders (R&D, production, quality, and clients).

You act as a trusted scientific expert, taking ownership of analytical decisions and contributing to the resolution of high-impact technical challenges.

In this position, you bring expertise, autonomy, and leadership in addressing complex analytical problems, while ensuring the robustness, continuous improvement, and long-term sustainability of laboratory activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as scientific referent for critical analytical activities
  • Develop, validate, and optimize advanced analytical methods
  • Define analytical strategies for complex problem-solving
  • Lead analytical investigations and support operations (troubleshooting, root cause analysis, customer support)
  • Support ISO 17025 compliance activities
  • Mentor laboratory staff and contribute to competency development among the team members
  • Represent the analytical laboratory in cross-functional and strategic projects

Analytical Challenges

  • Solve complex, non-standard analytical problems
  • Develop innovative approaches for complex matrices (inks, polymers…)
  • Combine multiple analytical techniques (Pyrolysis-GC-MS, LC-MS, ATR-FTIR, ICP-OES, XRF…)
  • Investigate chemical mechanisms (reactions, degradation, interactions)
  • Identify and overcome analytical limitations through alternative approaches
  • Directly contribute to innovation and business value creation

Profile

  • PhD in Analytical Chemistry with minimum 5 years of relevant industrial experience, or equivalent combination of experience and expertise
  • Proven experience in leading complex analytical projects
  • Strong expertise in method development and validation
  • Advanced knowledge of analytical techniques
  • Experience working in an ISO 17025 environment is considered an advantage 
  • Strong analytical thinking, autonomy, and scientific leadership
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Fluent in English and French
