Senior System Architect - Finance & Credit 100%

We are looking for an experienced Senior System Architect to join a leading financial services organisation in Zurich. In this role, you will shape solution architectures across Finance & Credit applications, working at the intersection of architecture, software engineering and business requirements.

You will take ownership of solutions throughout their lifecycle, ensuring they align with wider architectural standards while remaining technically feasible and effective for the business.

You will design and take ownership of solution architectures for applications in delivery, ensuring alignment with domain target architectures and established architectural standards.

Working closely with Software Engineering, business stakeholders and fellow architects, you will:

• Design solution architectures from initial concept and implementation through to testing, release and operations
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable and technically feasible solutions
• Identify architectural options, evaluate trade-offs and drive key architecture decisions
• Create and manage Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and support approval through relevant architecture boards
• Identify and manage architecture debt where transitional solutions differ from the target architecture
• Guide and coach software engineers during implementation
• Collaborate across Domain, Foundation and System Architecture teams
• Support solutions throughout the wider software lifecycle 

• 3+ years' experience as a Senior/System/Solution Architect
• 5+ years' previous experience as a Lead or Senior Software Engineer
• Strong track record owning solution architecture from design through implementation and operations
• Hands-on experience with SAP solutions, particularly S/4HANA, BW/HANA and BTP
• Good understanding of Financial Accounting and Management Accounting
• Knowledge of IFRS and Swiss GAAP within financial services
• Strong experience translating complex business requirements into technical solutions
• Ability to simplify complex topics and identify the key decisions requiring architectural direction
• Strong knowledge of modern architecture approaches such as event-driven architecture, microservices and modular monoliths
• Comfortable working with both business and technology stakeholders in complex environments
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Proactive and delivery-focused, with the ability to work effectively under pressure
• Fluent English; German is an advantage
