Communications Specialist (JR2195)
Short Description

Purpose of the role:

Develops and delivers high-quality corporate communications content for multiple stakeholders and audiences across internal and external channels. Ensures all content is aligned with the AO's corporate narrative, editorial standards, and governance. Supports the implementation of strategic, stakeholder, and leadership communications led by the Corporate Communications Expert.

Main Responsibilities

Corporate narrative, content development, and editorial delivery:

  • Develops and delivers communication materials across channels, applying the AO's corporate narrative, messaging frameworks, and editorial standards.
  • Supports leadership, stakeholder, and media communications through drafting, content coordination, and preparation of communication materials.

Corporate channel execution and alignment:

  • Delivers corporate communications across relevant channels (owned and shared), adapting content to channel requirements and ensuring consistent messaging in collaboration with channel owners.

Stakeholder collaboration and communication enablement:

  • Works closely with internal stakeholders to deliver communication materials, providing guidance on messaging, structure, and alignment with the corporate narrative.
  • Supports the application of communication standards and best practices across functions.
  • Applies AI-powered communications tools and automation to enhance drafting, editing, and quality control.

Communications project delivery and coordination:

  • Manages communication activities from brief to delivery, including timelines, stakeholder coordination, review cycles, and approvals.
  • Ensures timely and effective delivery of assigned communications. 

External supplier coordination:

  • Supports the use of external suppliers where required, including briefing, coordination, and delivery of communication outputs in line with defined scope and guidance.

Monitoring and continuous improvement:

  • Tracks feedback, engagement, and performance insights to improve communication quality, audience targeting, and overall effectiveness.
Main Requirements

Experience:

  • 7-9+ years in corporate communications, internal communications, external communications, PR, media relations, stakeholder communications, editorial, or related fields
  • Experience writing and editing communications materials for multiple audiences and channels
  • Experience supporting media relations, public relations, German-language media, or external communications activities is advantageous
  • Experience coordinating communications projects from brief through publication, including timelines, stakeholder review, approvals, publication schedules, and performance follow-up
  • Experience supporting, but not necessarily leading, executive or leadership communications activities
  • Experience working in an international or complex stakeholder environment is advantageous

  • Professional writing and editing

  • Change communications, media relations and public relations content support
  • Corporate social media content development
  • Communications project coordination
  • Editorial quality control
  • Communication toolkits, templates, and briefing materials development
  • AI-assisted drafting, editing, and quality control

Language skills:

  • English, fluent spoken and written
  • German, nice to have
