As a private consulting and platform organization working on behalf of the Confederation and the cantons with around 200 employees and more than 3,000 partners, S-GE supports Swiss companies every year in their international business and helps innovative foreign companies on their way to settling in Switzerland. For our Zurich office, we are seeking a resource to start immediately or on a mutually agreed date:
Consultant DACH (80-100%) for our Export Promotion team.
Your Duties
- Build and manage a sales pipeline for consulting mandates in Germany and Austria; acquire new projects, develop tailored solutions, prepare proposals, and lead negotiations for Swiss exporters
- Manage the full client lifecycle from onboarding through project delivery, follow-up, and long-term relationship management, in close collaboration with the Swiss Business Hub in Stuttgart and external partners in Vienna
- Develop and implement concrete market entry and expansion strategies for Swiss SME clients, including roadmaps, partner identification, and distribution development
- Lead consulting mandates end-to-end, ensuring quality, timelines, budgets, and content standards are met
- Act as a long-term advisor to clients, supporting them throughout their entire internationalization journey and helping them expand their business beyond their home region, with a specific focus on the DACH market
- Provide market-relevant knowledge, networks, and intelligence on Germany and Austria, and position both markets as attractive destinations for Swiss companies
- Initiate, organise, and lead inbound and outbound business delegations; represent S-GE confidently at own and external events in Switzerland and in the DACH region
- Provide operational support to the Swiss Business Hub in Stuttgart
- Develop and maintain the expert and partner network including SECO, FDFA, AHK, industry associations, and cantonal chambers
Your Profil
- Master's degree in Business, or equivalent university degree with a focus on International Business, Business Strategy, Export or Economics
- 3- 5 years of professional experience in a B2B context in the industrial sector (MEM, Aerospace, Life Sciences, Cleantech, ICT) with hands-on knowledge of how a Swiss SME operates
- A strong understanding of, and genuine passion for, the Swiss market and industrial landscape
- Understanding of the German and Austrian market landscapes and industrial ecosystems, ideally supported by study or professional experience in either country
- Proven track record in market entry strategies, partner search and distribution development
- Networker personality with strong social, intercultural, consulting and negotiation skills
- Structured and results driven professional with a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset, hands-on approach, passion for client engagement & client acquisitions, and a strong drive for growth
- Existing network in the DACH region (AHK, industry associations, clusters) and/or experience working with public institutions or diplomatic missions, are considered an advantage
- German native level (C2) and business fluent English (C1), are essential
